Planning the timing of your treatments for the festive season – whether injectables or skin treatments – will optimise your results come party time!
The social season is just around the corner and it’s a particularly busy time for our clinic as everyone gets ‘party ready’. We know you want to feel your best, so be sure to plan your treatments now so your results peak at the right time.
Timing your Dermal Filler Treatments
Most filler treatments are extremely straightforward with minimal downtime and immediate results. You may have a bruise or some mild swelling, but this usually settles within a few days. However, if you are thinking about having lip filler treatment we advise you to allow a week for your lips to fully settle. Remember, you won’t be able to apply any makeup on the day of your dermal filler treatment.
- To minimise your chances of bruising avoid:
- drinking alcohol for 48 hours prior to your treatment and again for 24 hours after
- strenuous exercise for the remainder of the day after treatment
- prolonged exposure to warm temperatures for the rest of the day, for example saunas, steam rooms or hot yoga
- taking Ibuprofen for 48 hours before and for 24 hours afterwards.
Results will look at their best a few weeks after treatment. This gives time for the hyaluronic acid based dermal filler to settle and integrate.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections Don’t Provide Instant Results
Unlike filler treatments, anti-wrinkle injections do not provide instant results. Although there’s no downtime with this treatment, you will need to be a little patient. It works within 5-10 days and can take a couple of weeks for the full effect. So, when timing your treatments for the festive season, allow for 14 days to see your full result.
When to Book Your Pre-Party Chemical Peels
Chemical peels vary in intensity. The stronger they are, the more visible peeling you will get, and peeling post treatment doesn’t start immediately. Usually your skin starts to gently flake 48 hours after treatment and can continue to peel for another 4-5 days. Best results are seen 7 – 10 days after your skin peel treatment.
If you are concerned about visible peeling – worry not! You can choose a low intensity peel which will still give you radiant results without a significant peeling process. This is subject to suitability.
Schedule Microneedling Appointments for a Week Before Big Events
The best results from microneedling can be seen after a few treatments. Therefore, we advise you to consult with one of our team about booking a course of treatments to get the most out of your visits.
Be aware that you may experience a little redness after treatment. This settles within a couple of days so it’s advisable to avoid having microneedling right before any Christmas parties. Plan to have this treatment a week before any important events.
