About the treatment

A personalised approach to Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are advanced injectable skin biostimulators designed to improve skin quality from within. They support the skin’s natural regenerative processes and stimulate fibroblast activity, helping promote collagen and elastin production.

Made from purified fish DNA, polynucleotides support natural skin repair and regeneration, helping improve hydration, firmness, elasticity and texture. They are particularly popular for concerns including fine lines, dehydration, dullness and early signs of skin ageing.

Polynucleotide treatments can be used across the face and delicate under-eye area, with the treatment tailored to your individual skin concerns and goals. They can also form part of a wider aesthetic treatment plan, complementing treatments such as dermal fillers to support overall skin quality and rejuvenation.

How we approach it

Every Polynucleotide treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation where your practitioner assesses your skin quality, concerns, medical history, current skincare routine and treatment goals.

Your practitioner will consider factors such as hydration, elasticity, texture, fine lines and overall skin health when deciding whether polynucleotides are appropriate for you.

The treatment is tailored to the area being treated and your individual skin needs. Your practitioner will discuss the expected results, number of treatments and appropriate treatment schedule before proceeding.

Polynucleotides can also form part of a wider skin rejuvenation plan and may be used alongside other aesthetic treatments where appropriate.

Who it’s for

Polynucleotides are a popular choice for adults looking to improve their overall skin quality without adding significant volume or changing their facial shape.

They may be considered for patients concerned about fine lines, reduced firmness, uneven texture or dull-looking skin. They can also be used to support the appearance of skin affected by ageing or scarring.

Polynucleotides are also a fantastic option for patients looking to improve skin quality as part of a wider aesthetic treatment plan or alongside other treatments.

Your practitioner will assess your skin, medical history and treatment goals to determine whether polynucleotides are suitable for you.

Treatment areas

Polynucleotides can be used in a range of areas depending on the product, your skin concerns and treatment goals. Treatment may include:

  • Face
  • Under-eye area
  • Neck
  • Décolletage

Your practitioner will recommend the most appropriate treatment areas during your consultation.

What to expect

Recovery, results & aftercare

Recovery

Polynucleotides typically involve 1-3 days of downtime. Mild redness, small bumps, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur around the injection sites and usually settles within a few hours to a couple of days. Recovery can vary depending on the treatment area and your individual response. Your practitioner will provide personalised aftercare advice.

Results

Polynucleotide results develop gradually as the treatment supports the skin’s natural regenerative processes. Improvements in hydration, texture, firmness and overall skin quality become more noticeable over several weeks. A course of 3 treatments, usually spaced 2-4 weeks apart, is commonly recommended for optimal results. Maintenance treatments can then be performed approximately every 6-12 months, depending on your individual response and treatment goals.

Aftercare

Avoid touching the treated area as much as possible following treatment. Avoid makeup on the treated area for 24 hours and use gentle, hydrating skincare while the skin settles. For at least 7 days, avoid exfoliants and active skincare ingredients including retinol, glycolic acid and salicylic acid. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours and minimise direct sun exposure. Daily SPF 50 is recommended to protect the skin during recovery. Follow the personalised aftercare advice provided by your practitioner.
