Dermal filler
Tear Trough
Soften under-eye hollows and shadows for a brighter, less tired appearance.
About the treatment
A considered approach to tear trough
Tear trough filler is a specialised dermal filler treatment designed to restore volume loss beneath the eyes, helping to soften the appearance of hollows, shadows and a tired-looking appearance.
The tear trough is the area between the lower eyelid and upper cheek, where changes in facial structure, reduced collagen and natural volume loss can create a sunken appearance over time.
Using carefully placed hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler, our practitioners aim to restore support beneath the eyes while maintaining natural facial movement and expression. The goal is not to add fullness, but to create a smoother transition between the lower eyelid and cheek for a refreshed appearance.
How we approach it
Every tear trough filler treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation where your practitioner assesses your facial anatomy, under-eye concerns and desired outcome. They will evaluate the cause of any hollowing or shadowing and create a personalised treatment plan based on your individual needs.
As the under-eye area is delicate, our practitioners take a careful and conservative approach, ensuring treatment is tailored to achieve subtle, natural-looking results while maintaining your facial balance.
Who it’s for
Tear trough filler may be suitable for adults concerned about under-eye hollows, dark shadows or a tired-looking appearance caused by volume loss beneath the eyes. It is commonly chosen by patients looking to restore lost volume, refresh the under-eye area and improve the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.
Not all under-eye concerns are caused by volume loss, so tear trough filler may not be suitable for everyone. During your consultation, your practitioner will assess whether filler is the right option or whether another treatment may better address your concerns.

Recovery, results & aftercare
Recovery
Tear trough filler requires minimal downtime, although the under-eye area can be more prone to swelling and bruising. Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur following treatment and typically settles within a few days. You can return to normal daily activities shortly after treatment, although we advise avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Results
You will see the effects of tear trough filler immediately, with the final result developing over up to 2 weeks as any swelling settles. Results typically last 12-18 months, depending on the individual. Many patients choose maintenance treatments approximately once a year to help preserve their results.
Aftercare
Results and recovery time may vary depending on the individual, and some may experience 1 day of minor bruising and up to 3 days of swelling. We highly recommend avoiding makeup, alcohol, exercise, aspirin, and ibuprofen for at least 24 hours after treatment.
