More Than Just a Dermal Filler

Patient consultation

Dermal filler is an incredible treatment, when the right product is selected and when it’s placed with strategy and intention. Where filler becomes less effective (and sometimes problematic) is when the wrong product is used, or when it’s injected without considering the wider picture of facial harmony, skin health, and long-term ageing patterns.

For many patients, dermal filler is seen as a single product. For us, it’s an umbrella term for a wide category of injectable solutions, each designed with specific properties, textures, and purposes. Yes, they all add volume, but today’s fillers can do so much more than replace what’s been lost.

Our Approach

At The Academy Clinic, we have a skin first approach. If your concerns can be better addressed with skincare, collagen induction treatments, or regenerative injectables before using filler, we’ll guide you in that direction. This ensures you get the most natural, long-lasting, and transformative results possible. However, we also use dermal filler products that have collagen-inducing benefits.

We partner with premium brands such as Juvederm and Revanesse and utilise their extensive range for all our treatments at The Academy Clinic.

There’s no one size fits all solution, which is why we offer a wide selection of fillers. We choose the right product based on your facial anatomy and goals. All our fillers are hyaluronic acid–based, providing hydration, supporting skin health, and restoring volume.

Different Types of Filler

Fine Lines & Delicate Areas
Hydrating, soft fillers are ideal for subtle improvements, such as tear troughs or fine lines. These products improve skin texture, boost hydration, and provide gentle support with minimal swelling.

Lips & Perioral Lines
Soft, malleable fillers enhance lip shape, smooth perioral lines, and hydrate the skin. Hyaluronic acid-based products allow for delicate, natural enhancements, whether restoring volume or refining contours.

Nasolabial Folds & Marionette Lines
Deeper lines benefit from medium-consistency fillers that lift and smooth without compromising facial movement. Premium, HA-based products provide durable yet flexible results tailored to each patient.

Cheeks, Chin & Jawline
Firmer, structured fillers restore contour, lift, and support areas that lose volume or definition with age. Leading hyaluronic acid–based options provide long-lasting structure while maintaining harmonious facial proportions.

Beyond Just Filling: Our Multi-Tier Approach

Modern aesthetics isn’t about adding more and more volume to try and cheat the ageing process, it’s about having a multi layer approach which combines improving skin quality and restoring volume and facial harmony naturally.

This means choosing the right product, for the right area and at the right time.

Often, it also involves preparing the skin with regenerative treatments such as Profhilo, Polynucleotides and other types of skinboosters before using filler to ensure results that are not only immediate but long-lasting.

Our Appointments

We offer private appointments as well as more affordable training tiers. Whichever option you choose, a qualified medical professional performs your treatment. This will be a doctor, nurse, dentist, or clinical pharmacist who is moving from their original medical field into aesthetics and works under the direct supervision of one of our expert practitioners

At The Academy Clinic, we tailor every treatment plan to your individual needs, ensuring results that enhance your natural beauty rather than change it.

FAQs

Does a softer product last less time than a firmer filler?
Generally, yes. Softer fillers tend to break down more quickly than firmer, more structured gels. Each product is formulated with different hyaluronic acid properties, which is why choosing the right dermal filler for the right area is so important.

How long do the collagen-inducing benefits of dermal fillers last?
This varies depending on the product used and the treatment area. Collagen stimulation builds gradually and is best maintained through consistent, well-planned treatments. With a personalised treatment plan, you can enjoy ongoing improvements in skin quality and long-term collagen support.

Are softer products more likely to migrate?
Not typically. Migration is far more related to correct product selection, precise placement, and injector technique than the softness of the filler itself. With expert hands and appropriate product choice, migration risk is minimal.

If someone is new to filler, would you advise starting with a softer product, or is it area-specific?
It’s always area-specific and tailored to the individual. Rather than choosing a product based on experience level, we select the filler that will achieve the safest, most natural-looking result based on your anatomy and goals.

For Bronze or Silver tier appointments, are the medical professionals already trained in the products prior to the appointment?

Absolutely. All of our clinicians are qualified medical professionals and trained in the safe use of hyaluronic acid injectables. The appointment tiers simply reflect the clinician’s level of hands-on experience within aesthetics—not a lack of training or product knowledge.
