Microneedling with Exosomes:The Next Generation of Skin Rejuvenation

Microneedling X Exosomes June 2026 Vrisha practitioner

Looking for a treatment that helps improve skin quality, boosts collagen production and supports healthier-looking skin? Microneedling with exosomes is one of the most exciting regenerative treatments available today.

At The Academy Clinic located in Manchester and London, we combine advanced technology with evidence-based treatments to help patients achieve natural, long-lasting results. Microneedling has been a trusted treatment for years. Now, by combining it with exosomes, we can further support the skin’s natural repair process and optimise results.

Whether you’re concerned about acne scarring, fine lines, uneven skin tone or simply want healthier, more radiant skin, microneedling with exosomes could be the perfect treatment for you.

What is Microneedling with Exosomes?

Microneedling creates thousands of tiny micro-channels within the skin using very fine sterile needles. This controlled process stimulates your body’s natural healing response, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin. Throughout the treatment, the Mesoestetic® regenerative cocktail, containing vegan exosomes, NAD and niacinamide, is infused into the skin through these micro-channels. These powerful regenerative ingredients work alongside the collagen-induction process to support cellular repair, reduce inflammation and accelerate skin renewal, enhancing both healing and overall skin health.

When exosomes are applied immediately after microneedling, they are able to penetrate these micro-channels and support the skin during the repair process.

Exosomes for the Skin

Every day, our cells send messages to one another, and exosomes act as the body’s natural messengers. They carry biological signals between cells that help regulate healing, tissue repair and normal cell function, supporting the skin’s natural regenerative processes.

As we age, our natural collagen production gradually slows, and the skin’s ability to repair itself becomes less efficient. This can lead to common concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, dullness, loss of elasticity and rough skin texture.

When applied after microneedling, exosomes provide additional regenerative signalling that supports the skin’s healing response following the controlled micro-injuries created during treatment. Rather than simply masking skin concerns, they work alongside the body’s natural repair process. This enhances the regenerative response already triggered by microneedling.

How to Prepare for Your Treatment

Every treatment begins with a medical-led consultation with our expert skin practitioners. We’ll assess your skin concerns and determine whether microneedling with exosomes is the most suitable treatment option for you.

To prepare your skin for microneedling and minimise sensitivity, we recommend avoiding active skincare ingredients such as retinoids and exfoliating acids for 3–5 days before your appointment.

It’s important to note that this treatment is not suitable for patients taking antibiotics or those with active cold sores. It should also be avoided if you’ve had significant sun exposure or laser treatment within the previous four weeks, or if you’ve used facial tanning products within the last two weeks.

What is the Treatment Process for Microneedling with Exosomes?

Step 1: Consultation

Your practitioner will discuss:

  • Your medical history
  • Skin concerns
  • Treatment goals
  • Expected outcomes
  • Aftercare advice

Step 2: Skin Preparation

Your skin is thoroughly cleansed. Before and after photos are taken to document your treatment progress. Topical numbing cream is then applied to improve comfort.

Step 3: Microneedling

Using a medical-grade microneedling pen with ultra-fine needles, controlled micro-injuries are created within the skin. This awakens your body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. The microneedling depth is adjusted depending on your skin and treatment area.

Step 4: Exosome Therapy Application

Immediately following microneedling, exosomes are applied to the skin. The micro-channels created during treatment allow the exosomes to reach the skin more effectively while supporting the healing response.

Step 5: Recovery

Following treatment, it’s completely normal to experience some downtime. Most patients notice redness immediately after treatment, so we recommend planning your appointment for a day when you don’t have too much planned afterwards.

You may experience:

  • Mild redness
  • Slight warmth
  • Skin tightness
  • Temporary sensitivity

These effects typically settle within 24–48 hours. Your skin practitioner will provide detailed aftercare advice to help optimise your results such as:

For the first 24 hours, avoid wearing makeup and touching the treated area. You should also avoid exercise, alcohol, and heat exposure, including saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers.

For the first 7 days, avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants. Instead, use only gentle, hydrating skincare to support your skin’s recovery.

For the first 4 weeks, avoid advanced aesthetic treatments, sunbeds, and excessive sun exposure. Apply SPF 50 daily to protect your skin and help maintain your results.

What Exosomes Product Do You Use?

We use Mesoestetic® Regenerative Cocktail, an advanced skin rejuvenation solution containing vegan exosomes, NAD and niacinamide.

The addition of NAD and niacinamide helps support overall skin quality, hydration, and barrier function, making this combination ideal for improving the appearance of dullness, uneven texture, fine lines and signs of skin ageing.

Microneedling with Exosomes Before and After

One of the most exciting parts of this treatment is seeing your skin gradually transform.

Our patient transformed her skin over several months through a treatment stacking approach at The Academy Clinic. This included three sessions of polynucleotides, a consistent medical-grade skincare routine with SVR products (available at the clinic) and one microneedling with exosomes treatment. By combining these treatments, our team targeted active acne, uneven skin texture, a dull complexion and the appearance of acne scarring. Look at the complete transformation below.

    1. Patient before treatment
    2. Patient after polynucleotides sessions, consistent skincare, and straight after microneedling with exosomes.
    3. One day after microneedling with exosomes treatment.
    4. Full recovery from microneedling with exosomes.

Practitioner Insight

Skin Practitioner Vrisha at our London clinic, explains why she is excited to offer this regenerative treatment to patients:

“I’m excited to offer microneedling with exosomes as it builds on the benefits of microneedling. While microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural repair process and collagen production, exosomes provide additional regenerative signalling that helps support the healing response. This can enhance overall treatment outcomes and reduce downtime, making it a great option for patients looking to maximise the results of their microneedling treatment.”

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

A course of 3 treatments is recommended for optimal and longer-lasting results. Your skin practitioner will create a personalised treatment plan during your consultation.

How Much Does a Microneedling with Exosomes Appointment Cost?

A Microneedling with Exosomes appointment costs £180 and lasts approximately 70 minutes.

Your appointment includes a comprehensive consultation, skin preparation, microneedling treatment, application of exosomes, and aftercare guidance to support your skin’s recovery and results.
