Lip filler is one our most popular injectable treatments at The Academy Clinic. However, we understand first time patients may have concerns over pain levels or discomfort during lip filler.
The steps we take towards minimising your discomfort may surprise and reassure you. Our aim is for you to experience a treatment during which you feel relaxed and in control.
So what steps do we take?
Topical lidocaine
Our practitioners will generously apply a topical cream, called lidocaine, to the lip area before your treatment. This helps to partially numb the area and reduce discomfort at the injection points.
Lidocaine is the most popular numbing cream used for lip fillers. This is because it is relatively quick to start taking effect (approximately 3-5 minutes) and lasts for approximately 1-2 hours. This makes it a great choice for dermal filler treatments, especially lip fillers.
What makes topical 4% lidocaine cream our preferred choice?
- Easy to administer (applied like a cream)
- Works quickly
- Lasts for the duration of your treatment
Whilst this cream won’t completely numb your lips, it’s a proven, effective way to reduce discomfort from injectables.
