Timing Your Christmas Treatments

Christmas treatment timings - botox dermal filler and skin treatments

“All I want for Christmas is botox, fillers, a skinbooster and a chemical peel!”

Are you getting ready for Christmas yet? Are you thinking of NYE? This year has been a bit of a strange one, full of uncertainty, but one thing is for sure……Santa is coming…and self care can be a great present for ourselves to feel good!

Here are a few tips on timing your Christmas and NYE treatments, so that you can get your diary out and start planning.

How long before Christmas should I have…..

Dermal Fillers

If you are having treatment with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, ideally book your appointment  2+ weeks before Christmas, in case of any bruising. This will also give some time for the filler to integrate and settle.

Lip Filler

It is sensible to have lip filler about 2+ weeks before Christmas, as it is common to get some bruising and swelling from the treatment. This time will allow time for the lips to settle so you can pucker up under the mistletoe!

Botox

When it comes to anti-wrinkle injections we know that maximum effect is at 2-4 weeks. If you’re having botulinum toxin treatment prior to Christmas, consider the time delay between treatment date and how long it takes for results to be seen. Plan to have this treatment a couple of weeks before.

Skinboosters

This is a great treatment for targeting ageing, dehydrated skin, wrinkles with overall hydration boost to improve skin quality. It is advisable to have treatment 2 to 3 weeks prior to any event in case of any bruising. This will also allow the skinbooster to start working its magic hydrating the skin.

Chemical Peels

The timing of chemical peels are very much dependent on the peel itself and expected duration of downtime post procedure. This will be dependent on the depth of the peel and the active ingredients and should be discussed with the Patient Coordinator when you book in this treatment with us directly. ‘Downtime’ is coping with redness or peeling for a few days post treatment. Use the recommended products after the procedure including SPF, despite it being winter…this will improve recovery time.

Microneedling

Winter is a great time for all skin treatments, including microneedling. Having this collagen induction therapy 2 – 4  weeks before Christmas will mean you will have that radiant glow for this special time of year.

The run up to Christmas and the new year can be a busy time, so get your treatments booked in early! Then you can enjoy optimum results from your injectable and skin treatments and have healthy, glowing skin for the festive season…and fresh new year!
